Missouri has landed a commitment from an untapped ACC edge defender. True freshman CJ May is committing to Missouri, according to On3.
The 6-foot-4, 236-pound May has 4 remaining seasons of eligibility. May arrived at Louisville as the Cardinals’ highest-rated prospect for the Class of 2025. Coming out of high school, May signed with Louisville over other offers from schools such as Miami, Notre Dame, Georgia, Tennessee, Penn State.

May didn’t play in any games last season for Louisville as he was buried on the depth chart behind other edge defenders. According to 247Sports, May is the No. 102 edge and No. 932 overall player in the transfer portal.
However, May showed plenty of potential in high school. During his senior season, he tallied 5 sacks in a playoff game. As a junior, he collected 7.5 sacks and 10 tackles for loss. Coming out of high school, May was regarded by 247Sports as the No. 16 prospect from Alabama and the No. 34 edge in the nation.
May stands as the second edge transfer Missouri has picked up this offseason after Florida State’s Jaden Jones. The Tigers went 8-5 overall and 4-4 in the SEC this season, capped off with a 13-7 loss vs. Virginia in the Gator Bowl.
