Mizzou’s defense will apparently be strengthened on Saturday as it tries to contain Trinidad Chambliss in Oxford.

The 13th-ranked Tigers take on No. 9 Ole Miss and its star quarterback, and according to Friday afternoon’s report by ESPN insider Pete Thamel, Mizzou will have the services of star linebacker Robert Woodyard Jr. for the SEC ranked matchup that kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET on SEC Network.

Thamel reported almost exactly 24 hours before kickoff that the senior “will play for the Tigers tomorrow at Ole Miss.”

Woodyard had been listed as questionable on Thursday night’s SEC injury report, so Thamel’s report a day later is a significant upgrade from being questionable to definitely playing.

Thamel also reported that Tigers defensive tackle Sterling Webb will be a game-time decision for the huge Week 7 matchup in Oxford. Webb was also listed as questionable on Thursday night’s SEC injury report, so Thamel’s report stayed consistent with Webb’s status up in the air for Saturday.

Woodyard has 43 total tackles this season, 9 of them solo, with 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery and 1 interception so far in 2026. He’s in his first season at Mizzou after spending the previous 4 seasons at SEC rival Auburn.

Meanwhile, Webb has 8 total tackles, 1 of them solo, with 1 sack this season.

With the Tigers’ defense strengthened by the reported availability of Woodyard, here is what the Kalshi market is currently saying about Mizzou’s chances to go to Oxford and get a huge road victory in Week 7:
