Mizzou will be featuring a “Tiger Stripe” configuration for the renewal of the Border War showdown against Kansas on Sept. 6 in Columbia.

The latest installment of the historic rivalry will be on national TV, with ESPN2 broadcasting the 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff from Faurot Field. On that afternoon in Week 2, Faurot Field will be decked out in old gold and black, with some sections taking the former color and some taking the latter.

This week, the Missouri Athletics social media account posted a link for Tigers fans to see what color their section was assigned and to purchase Mizzou gear that would match their color assignment.

Here is the post, which mentions that the rivalry game is just 22 days away — well, now it’s 20 days:

Missouri and Kansas first locked horns on the football field on Halloween in 1891 in Kansas City. The Jayhawks won that one, 22-10.

Kansas might have gotten an early start in the all-time series on that day, but Missouri now claims bragging rights. The Tigers lead the all-time series, 57-54-9.

In less than 3 weeks, Mizzou will have a chance to add to that lead in the series, and it’ll be trying to do it in front of a crowd dressed in tiger stripes. The Border War will never look so snazzy, as the old Midwest rivals face each other for the first time since the rivalry was ended in 2011.

Now, the Border War is beginning again, and Mizzou will be trying to win in front of its uniquely dressed home crowd.
