When Mizzou reignites its rivalry in the Border War with visiting Kansas on Saturday, its uniforms will pay homage to the series. On Thursday, the Tigers revealed their uniform combination for their first game against the Jayhawks since 2011.
In a nod to their past, the Tigers will don black helmets, black jerseys, and gold pants. The Week 2 helmet also has the Block M logo on it instead of the normal Tiger logo.
During last week’s 61-6 season-opening rout of visiting Central Arkansas, Mizzou wore all black with the helmet having the Tiger logo. Missouri quarterback Beau Pribula had 283 passing yards along with 2 touchdowns and no interceptions through the air. Pribula also had 65 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground.
Kansas is off to a 2-0 start thanks to 2 home victories. Kansas defeated Fresno State 31-7, then throttled Wagner 46-7 last weekend.
Mizzou leads the all-time series 57-54-9 over Kansas. The first meeting dates all the way back to Halloween in 1891. The Tigers have 3 straight victories over the Jayhawks, with the latest coming in a 24-10 result in Kansas City on Nov. 26, 2011.
The border rivals are set to face off at 3:30 p.m. ET from Memorial Stadium on Saturday. Viewers can catch the Border War on ESPN2. Mizzou is a 6.5-point favorite, per ESPN Bet.
