Nakobe Dean had his Wild Card playoff game cut short on Sunday due to a knee injury.

The former Georgia linebacker had to be carted off the field in the 2nd quarter of his Philadelphia Eagles’ home Wild Card game against the Green Bay Packers.

Shortly after exiting the game, Dean was officially ruled out for the remainder of the Wild Card clash.

Dean will be sorely missed in the 2nd half as Philadelphia hopes to hold on to its 10-0 lead and advance to the next round of the NFC playoffs. Despite leaving at the 5:50 mark of the 2nd quarter, Dean was already the Eagles’ top defender in the game. He led the unit in total tackles with 6 and had 2 of the team’s 3 TFLs.

A national champion at Georgia in 2021, Dean is in his 3rd professional season. The Eagles selected the Butkus Award winner and Unanimous All-American with the No. 83 overall pick in the 3rd round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Dean had a breakout season in 2024, stepping into a starting role. Over 15 games, he recorded 128 total tackles with 80 solo stops, 9 TFLs, 6 QB hits and 3.5 sacks.
