Nate Oats could be without some depth when the Alabama basketball team faces off with Missouri in the semifinals of the SEC basketball Tournament.

The Alabama coach confirmed that senior guard Dominick Welch is going to be a game-time decision due to a tailbone injury. The 6-foot-5 Welch averages 2.1 points and 1.7 rebounds while averaging 9.4 minutes off the bench for the Tide.

This is Welch’s first season at Alabama after spending four years with St. Bonaventure. For his career, the Buffalo, NY native has averaged 9.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists.

Alabama is coming off a convincing 72-49 victory vs. Mississippi State in the quarterfinals. Brandon Miller finished with 18 points and 9 rebounds while the Tide held Mississippi State to 31% overall shooting and just 7.7% from the 3-point line. Alabama also protected the ball to only commit 7 turnovers.

Missouri defeated Tennessee 79-71 in the quarterfinals. Senior guard D’Moi Hodge scored 26 points for the Tigers. Senior guard Kobe Brown tallied 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 steals.

In the previous meeting between the two teams, Alabama handled host Missouri 85-64 on Jan. 21. Freshman forward Noah Clowney and junior guard Mark Sears both had 17 points for the Crimson Tide.
