Nate Oats offers timeline for Josh Primo’s return for Alabama

Alabama had to get past Tennessee on Saturday without Josh Primo, an all-freshman SEC selection who injured his left knee in the second half of Friday’s quarterfinal win over Mississippi State.
After the game, coach Nate Oats offered an update on Primo as the Crimson Tide are getting set for Sunday’s SEC Championship against either Arkansas or LSU. Alabama, which advanced to its first SEC Tournament championship game appearance since 2002, has not won the tournament since 1991.
Primo walked gingerly with a crutch in the arena on Saturday.

Oats said, “Josh Primo might sit out tomorrow but does not require surgery and “we hope to have him back for the NCAA Tournament.”
Primo became a starter early in the season and hit his career high of 22 points twice this season against Auburn and LSU, including the game against the Bayou Tigers where he knocked down a career-best six 3-pointers in the victory.
Primo averages 8.1 points per game and 3.4 rebounds per game for the Tide.
