NCAA responds to ACC proposal to make all teams eligible for upcoming March Madness tournament
Well, it was a fun idea while it lasted.
If you missed the news, all the coaches from the ACC have joined in proposing an all-in NCAA Tournament for the upcoming college basketball season.
The idea has received some mixed reviews but for fans eager to see the upcoming tournament get crazy, we have some bad news.
It appears that the NCAA has no plans to alter the upcoming March Madness tournament. Here is a statement issued by Dan Gavitt NCAA SVP of basketball shared by Andy Katz of the NCAA:
“Every college basketball team’s goal is to play in the NCAA tournament because everyone loves March Madness. Certainly we missed it this year and can’t wait for 2021. While all who care about the game are entitled to their opinion, and we’ll always listen respectfully, at this time we are not working on any contingency plan that involves expanding the tournament field.”
Unless things change in Indianapolis, it appears the NCAA tournament isn’t changing any time soon.
