Day 3 of the NFL Combine was a big one for SEC defensive linemen, as a pair of them stole the show in Indianapolis.
NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks released five winners and two losers from the day. Along with Bradley Chubb, Shaquem Griffin and Tremaine Edmunds, Brooks named Alabama DL Da’Ron Payne and Florida DL Taven Bryan as winners of Day 3.
Payne showed incredible speed for a big man in his 40-yard dash, checking in with a time of 4.95 seconds:

Meanwhile, Bryan’s performance drew comparisons to Houston Texans star J.J. Watt, which is sure to make NFL teams take note:

Payne is projected as a mid-first round pick, while Bryan is a borderline first rounder. However, after his performance on Sunday, it wouldn’t be a big surprise to see Bryan slide solidly into the first-round mix.
