NFL Draft 2025: Top analyst’s latest mock includes 15 SEC stars in Round 1

NFL Draft season is officially upon us. The Senior Bowl is in the rearview mirror and now we are only a couple of short months away from Round 1, which will take place Thursday, April 24, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Much has been made about the SEC’s struggles on the field in the past couple of years, as the conference has not had a representative in the national championship game since Georgia embarrassed TCU following the 2022 season.

But SEC dominance is still alive and well if you look at mock drafts. NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein released his Round 1 projections following the Senior Bowl and he included a whopping 15 former SEC standouts.

Here’s a look at the SEC guys in the first round of his mock:

• No. 4 — Will Campbell, OL, LSU — New England Patriots
• No. 9 — Mykell Williams, DL, Georgia — New Orleans Saints
• No. 10 — Kelvin Banks Jr., OL, Texas — Chicago Bears
• No. 12 — Walter Nolen, DL, Ole Miss — Dallas Cowboys
• No. 13 — Jalon Walker, Edge, Georgia — Miami Dolphins
• No. 14 — Armond Membou, OL, Mizzou — Indianapolis Colts
• No. 16 — Tyler Booker, OL, Alabama — Arizona Cardinals
• No. 18 — Luther Burden III, WR, Mizzou — Seattle Seahawks
• No. 19 — Nic Scourton, Edge, Texas A&M — Tampa Bay Buccaneers
• No. 21 — Matthew Golden, WR, Texas — Pittsburgh Steelers
• No. 23 — Shemar Stewart, Edge, Texas A&M — Green Bay Packers
• No. 24 — Jahdae Barron, DB, Texas — Minnesota Vikings
• No. 27 — Nick Emmanwori, DB, South Carolina — Balitmore Ravens
• No. 30 — Tre Harris, WR, Ole Miss — Buffalo Bills
• No. 31 — James Pearce Jr., Edge, Tennessee — Philadelphia Eagles

Will the SEC really account for nearly half of the first round? We’ll find out in April. For now, we’ll look ahead to the NFL Combine at the end of the month.
