When the 2020 NFL Draft starts up in April in Las Vegas, Auburn DL Derrick Brown figures to be one of the first 10 players to hear his name called.

He backed up that pre-draft hype at the NFL Combine this week, turning in strong performances for a 320-pound defender.

After Saturday’s NFL Combine session wrapped up, NFL.com analyst Daniel Jeremiah wrote about what makes Brown so special:

“He can shock ya. He’ll reset the line of scrimmage, find the football, [and] make a play. Then as a rusher it’s pure power. A combination of the power and effort jumps out as we see if working today. Again, 320 plus pounds changing direction. Not too bad. He won’t be waiting long. It’ll be a very happy team that gets him.”

Jeremiah’s first mock draft back in January had Brown going No. 7 overall to the Carolina Panthers. Once the Combine wraps up, Jeremiah will likely put together a new mock draft, so we’ll see how Brown’s stock is affected (if it is at all).

He’s still firmly in the mix to be a top-10 pick after his performance in Indianapolis over the past few days. As Jeremiah notes, whoever drafts him will be very happy.
