NFL Draft analyst shares thoughts on Jalen Milroe’s draft stock ahead of senior bowl
NFL Draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah joined the Pat McAfee Show on Thursday to discuss the 2025 NFL Draft and several prospects.
With the Senior Bowl coming up, Jeremiah mentioned Jalen Milroe as a player who has a “huge opportunity” to improve his draft stock. Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward have gotten most of the attention at quarterback in this class, but Jeremiah believes Milroe could still be an early draft pick.
“When you get to Alabama and you watch Milroe, you just want him to be good so bad, because everything you hear, he’s a great kid, he’s freakin’ jacked, he’s a big, strong, physical kid who can run like crazy,” said Jeremiah. “He’s got a huge opportunity at the Senior Bowl next week, he’s going to be down there so we’ll get a chance to see him.”
Milroe’s natural athleticism and physical tools can’t be ignored, but his on-field decision-making has been brought into question at times.
In 2024, Milroe threw for 2,844 yards with 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. The QB also rushed for 726 yards and a whopping 20 scores on the ground. Over 38 career games at Alabama, Milroe threw for 6,016 yards with 45 TDs and 20 INTs. Milroe finished 6th in Heisman voting in 2023.
Jeremiah mentioned that some teams will be hesitant to take Milroe due to the uncertainty, but the QB will ultimately still be highly drafted.
“He’s going to go on day two just because the tools are so interesting,” Jeremiah added.
