The Pro Bowl is headed to Sin City.

Las Vegas was set to hold the 2020 NFL Draft before the coronavirus pandemic arrived, which forced the event to go the virtual route. Now, the NFL has found a way to make up for that loss by sending the Pro Bowl to the Nevada desert in 2021.

On Tuesday, the NFL announced that the 2021 Pro Bowl will be held in Allegiant Stadium, the new home of the Las Vegas Raiders. In recent years, the Pro Bowl was held in Orlando after several years of holding the event in Hawaii.

“The Raiders welcome the NFL Pro Bowl to Allegiant Stadium and to Las Vegas, the Sports and Entertainment Capital of the World,” Raiders president Marc Badain said in a prepared statement. “Pro Bowl week is a celebration of the best the NFL has to offer and there is no better place than Las Vegas to celebrate and honor the league’s biggest stars. The NFL, the LVCVA and the Raiders look forward to a world class event that will set the standard for future NFL events in Las Vegas.”

The decision to send the Pro Bowl to Las Vegas is among the many expected events to head to the desert in the coming years, including a potential new SEC affiliation with the Las Vegas Bowl. Once Allegiant Stadium is up and running, the Las Vegas stadium is also expected to be in the running to potentially host a College Football Playoff game in the years to come.
