Nick Evers, a 4-star quarterback in the 2022 recruiting class, announced this week that he was decommitting from Florida.

The Texas native originally announced his commitment to the Gators back in March, but after meeting with new coach Billy Napier, he has decided to explore his options.

After facing some backlash, Evers’ dad, Derrick, took to Twitter and posted a lengthy note trying to explain the decision and clear up some rumors:

Where will Evers end up next? That remains to be seen, but there figure to be plenty of suitors for the talented quarterback.

Now, we’ll just have to see how much more drama there is between the Evers family and Florida moving forward.
