Just days after the scary Richard LeCounte news out of Georgia, another high-profile SEC player has been injured in a car accident.

Nick Saban announced Friday that redshirt freshman Trey Sanders was in stable condition after suffering non-life-threatening injuries in a car accident in the morning.

โ€œTrey Sanders was involved in a car accident this morning and is in stable condition after sustaining non-life-threatening injuries,” Saban’s statement read. “We are in direct contact with his family and the physicians that are treating him as we continue to gather more information.โ€

Courtney Mims of WMBB, which covers the Florida panhandle, offered more on Sanders’ crash. Sanders is from Port St. Joe in the Florida panhandle:

A former 5-star recruit in the class of 2019, Sanders missed his true freshman season after suffering an injury during fall camp. This season, Sanders has appeared in 4 games, recording 30 rushes for 134 yards. He also has a 17-yard kickoff return.
