Nick Saban has heard people across the country talk about Oklahoma as the Sooners enter the Red River Shootout with a 2-2 record. Two weeks ago, the Sooners lost to Georgia, 41-13, with turnovers playing a huge role in the loss.

Despite the struggles, Saban talked on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ that the Sooners are actually a better team than what they have shown this year.

“Oklahoma isn’t as bad as people think,” Saban said. “I know they’re struggling on offense, but they just have to eliminate the bad plays. They’re giving other teams too many opportunities with these turnovers.”

The big struggles for the Sooners have been turnovers and an inability to run the ball. Trailing 14-0 against Georgia two weeks ago, the Sooners were driving to make it a ballgame. However, John Mateer lost control of the ball, fumbled it, and the Bulldogs picked it up and returned it all the way for a touchdown.

Oklahoma has a defense that is capable of competing in the SEC, but the offense hasn’t been able to produce at all. For the Sooners to win this game, they are going to need to open things up on offense and make some plays.
