The Alabama Crimson Tide took a huge hit on Wednesday, when it was revealed that star LB Dylan Moses had torn his ACL.
Moses was the quarterback of the Tide’s defense, so now they need a new on-field play caller. So, the question on Wednesday night for coach Nick Saban was — who will that be?
Saban said the play caller would be whoever was playing the Mike linebacker position. Earlier in the day, he said freshman Shane Lee was the backup for Moses:
Saban was asked who will call the defense: "Whoever's playing Mike linebacker."
Earlier today, Saban said freshman Shane Lee was the backup Mike.

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Lee was the No. 5 inside linebacker in the class of 2019 and the No. 2 overall recruit from the state of Maryland.
Lee doesn’t have the experience Moses had, but he’ll be thrust in an important position this fall. How he handles it remains to be seen.
