Nick Saban has a new look.

The legendary Alabama head coach and College GameDay host is on-site for Mizzou at Vanderbilt, what should be one of the best games of Week 9. And at first, he wasn’t doing much for his popularity poll in Nashville – insisting that for a time, Vanderbilt didn’t exactly strike fear into opponents.

But the crowd turned quickly once Saban began praising what the Commodores have been doing this season. So much so that the Vanderbilt Pimp, popularized by the SEC Shorts skit following Vanderbilt’s win over Alabama last year, walked up to Saban and gave up his crown and cape.

Obviously, this gave us all a pretty great visual:

Saban was an elite head coach, but he’s becoming an elite GameDay host as well. His knowledge of the college game is a key contribution to the show, and, like Pat McAfee, he definitely knows how to play a crowd.

His praise for Vanderbilt was more than just showmanship, though. The Commodores are as good as they’ve been in recent memory, having won 6 of their first 7 games with their lone loss coming to Alabama a few weeks ago. Vanderbilt bounced back from that loss to Alabama with a win over LSU, and they’ll look to stack another top 25 win today against No. 15 Mizzou.

Stopping the Tigers’ rushing offense is paramount for Vanderbilt. Ahmad Hardy is perhaps the best running back in the country and Beau Pribula, apart from Pavia and Arkansas’ Taylen Green, may be the best rushing quarterback in the league.

Mizzou at Vanderbilt is set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET/2:30 CT.
