Nick Saban finally gives an authentic reaction to Alabama’s No. 2 CFP ranking

For once, Nick Saban is happy about something having to do with rankings.
The Crimson Tide head coach has said recently that the outside noise from the media talking about how good Alabama is, basically, is like poison.
Or, as Saban more eloquently described it, rat poison.
It’s understandable why Alabama’s head coach would prefer to keep his players focused and unconcerned with others’ perception of them. Then again, if anyone should be used to the challenges that come with being No. 1, it would be Saban.
But things are a bit different this week. When the first edition of the College Football Playoff rankings came out on Tuesday night, the Crimson Tide was No. 2 behind conference foe Georgia.
Saban didn’t seem to mind it:

Perhaps it isn’t so bad not being everyone’s top target for once.
And maybe it’s not so poisonous being No. 2.
“We want Georgia! We want Georgia! We want Georgia!” has a bit of a different ring to it.
But if you want to bet on one thing, rest assured knowing the Tide will be at its best on Saturday against LSU.
