The legendary Nick Saban had high praise for Alabama offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb after the Crimson Tide’s win against Georgia.

Alabama got out to a hot start against Georgia. The Crimson Tide put up 24 points in the first half, and it was enough to beat Georgia, even without scoring a single point in the second half of the game. Saban praised Grubb’s game plan on Monday when talking about the game.

I thought the game plan they had against Georgia — the execution, 13-for-19 on third down, starting out the game 8-for-8 on third down against a multiple defense, a really good defense that does a lot of stuff, takes a lot of planning and preparation,” Saban said, per 247Sports. “Obviously Ty Simpson did a good job. This is what I see being really good coaching.

For those who don’t remember, Saban tried to hire Grubb as Alabama’s offensive coordinator before the 2023 season. Grubb decided to stay with Kalen DeBoer in Washington and left for the Seahawks in 2024, but after being fired, returned to coaching with DeBoer, this time in Tuscaloosa.

Saban has been a fan of Grubb for some time now, and the game against Georgia was just another example of great coaching by Grubb.
