Nick Saban reveals why Florida’s offense has been so explosive in 2026

Nick Saban is not only a legendary college football coach, he’s a scientist of sorts when it comes to breaking down film.
During Saturday morning’s ESPN College GameDay broadcast from Knoxville, the guy who won 7 national championships at LSU and (mostly) at Alabama took to the “Coach Saban Film Room” to break down Florida‘s early offensive firepower in 2026 and why it’s all running so smoothly so early in Jon Sumrall‘s 1st season in Gainesville.
All the 21st-ranked Gators have done, as they get ready to host No. 4 Ole Miss on Saturday afternoon (3:30 p.m. ET, ABC), is put up 66 points in their season opener against FAU, followed by 52 points against Campbell in Week 2, before opening their SEC campaign with another 44 points in a big win at Auburn last week.
Saban has witnessed the early season brilliance of Florida’s offense under coordinator Buster Faulkner, and he offered this before breaking it all down:
“I think the big thing that (Faulker) does is he has a complementary series of plays that comes off of every run action,” Nick Saban said.
The coach turned ESPN analyst then went on to break down the specifics of Faulkner’s attack:
