Nick Saban has been a part of ESPN’s College GameDay coverage since the 2024 season, and he has become a staple ever since. He has been to many different venues over the last three seasons, but the BYU crowd in Week 7 was on a different level in Saban’s eyes.

“That was the most excitement, and energy, and passion that I have seen since I have been on the show,” Saban said on the Pat McAfee Show.

The atmosphere helped BYU pick up the huge 28-24 victory against previously undefeated and No. 2 ranked Notre Dame. Quarterback Beau Bachmeier had a Heisman Trophy moment-type performance in the win. He finished the game with 224 passing yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for another 45 yards and two more scores. To cap off the night, he also had a receiving touchdown as well.

The Cougars were able to get the win with running back LJ Martin, who is as good a running back as there is in the Big 12.

With the win, the Cougars remained undefeated and are now the No. 2 team in the country as they hit the road on Saturday to take on UCF. If the Cougars are able to continue their winning ways, there will be more electric atmospheres in Provo.
