Nick Saban says he’s proud of Alabama’s resiliency: ‘People even buried this team at times’

Nick Saban participated in his radio show Saturday night from Indianapolis ahead of Monday night’s national championship against Georgia.
Saban even quoted star LB Will Anderson Jr., who said in recent weeks that no one fights like Alabama fights. Saban added that a lot of other Alabama teams won going away, so they never really had to do the things this team did.
“This team has been criticized. People even buried this team at times when we didn’t play well,” Saban said. “We lost a close game, we won a couple close games when we came back in games. But that tells me something about the team from a character standpoint. In terms of their resiliency. … You do have to respect what the players have done to get to this point. You have to respect the fight, and the competitive character that they’ve shown to come back in games to have the opportunity to do this.”
