Nick Saban has called this an enjoyable team to coach, and after the come-from-behind win over Tennessee on Saturday, Nick Saban has coined a new phrase after another close win.
“They’re taking years off of my life, but I’m OK with that,” Saban said.
Alabama shook off an early 13-0 deficit and scored 27 straight second-half points to beat Tennessee 34-20.
Jalen Milroe passed for two touchdowns, Jihaad Campbell returned a fumble for a score in the 4th quarter.
Staring at its second loss of the season and its national title hopes on the brink, Alabama delivered its most dominant half of the season. And it came against the team that ended Alabama’s championship aspirations a year ago.
The loss dealt a crushing blow to the SEC East chances for the Vols, who built a 20-7 halftime lead with a huge start from Joe Milton III.
Tennessee had a chance to win in Tuscaloosa for the first time in 20 years, but those hopes quickly crumbled a year after the Vols ended 15 years of frustration against the Tide, 52-49, on a last-play field goal.
