Nick Saban’s Grammy-winning doppelgänger discusses his resemblance to the Alabama coach

Wayne Johnson of the band The Manhattan Transfer has known for a while that he looks almost exactly like Alabama coach Nick Saban.
The Grammy-winning guitar player told AL.com on Tuesday that he thinks his famous doppelgänger is a great coach and he doesn’t mind the comparisons:
“I was proud of it when I saw that,” he said. “I thought this is so cool. Nick Saban, in the college football world, is like a god.”
Johnson won a Grammy award in 2004 for the best pop instrumental album. He now travels the country as a guitar instructor.
Sometimes, he admits, he watches Saban’s press conferences to see if the Alabama coach is aware of the resemblance and if he knows who Johnson is:
“I keep thinking in one of these little reporting sessions someone is going to say, ‘Nick, is it true?'” he says. “That’d be funny.”
