The biggest signing of this year’s NFL free-agent frenzy involved a former SEC player — Tennessee defensive lineman Malik Jackson, who inked a 6-year, $85.5 million deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars after spending the first four years of his pro career with the Denver Broncos.
But Jackson isn’t the only ex-conference standout to cash in while changing teams.
In alphabetical order by school, here’s a recap of the status of all this year’s NFL free agents who have played for SEC teams:
Alabama
The Los Angeles Rams re-signed LB Mark Barron to a 5-year, $45 million deal. Guard Evan Mathis, who spent last season with the Denver Broncos, signed a 1-year, $6 million contract with the Arizona Cardinals.
The Dallas Cowboys re-signed LB Rolando McClain to a 1-year, $4 million deal. LB Courtney Upshaw, who spent the last four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, is a free agent.
LB DeMeco Ryans, who has been released after four years with the Philadelphia Eagles, is a free agent, as is DE Wallace Gilberry, who spent the last four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. The Tennessee Titans signed S Rashad Johnson, formerly of the Cardinals, to a one-year contract.
S Roman Harper, who spent the last two seasons with the Carolina Panthers, is a free agent.
Auburn
The Bengals re-signed DT Pat Sims to a 2-year pact worth $2.3 million. The Oakland Raiders gave CB Neiko Thorpe a second-round tender.
DT Nick Fairley, who spent last season with the Detroit Lions, guard Ben Grubbs, who spent last season with the Kansas City Chiefs, and guard Brandon Mosley, who spent the last four years with the New York Giants, are free agents. LB Karlos Dansby, who spent the last two seasons with the Cleveland Browns, is also a free agent.
CB Jeraud Powers, who spent the last three seasons with Arizona, remains a free agent.
Florida
CB Janoris Jenkins, who spent the last four years with the Rams, signed 5-year, $62.5 million deal with the Giants.
The Chiefs re-signed DE Jaye Howard to a 2-year, $12 million deal. The Minnesota Vikings re-signed DE Justin Trattou to a 1-year, $810,000 contract.
WR Percy Harvin, who spent last season with the Buffalo Bills, remains a free agent. Riley Cooper, who spent the last six seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, is also a free agent.
WR Andre Caldwell, who spent the last four seasons with the Broncos, remains a free agent. WR David Nelson, who spent last season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, is also a free agent.
DE Jeremy Mincey, who spent the last two seasons with Dallas, is still a free agent, as is DB Reggie Nelson, who spent the last six seasons with Cincinnati. DB Will Hill, who spent the last two seasons with Baltimore, is also a free agent.
Georgia
TE Ben Watson, who spent the last three seasons with the New Orleans Saints, signed 2-year, $7 million deal with the Ravens. Buffalo re-signed guard Cordy Glenn to a 1-year deal worth $13.706 million.
The Panthers re-signed DE Charles Johnson to a 1-year, $3 million deal. Center Ben Jones, who spent the last four years with the Houston Texans, signed 4-year, $17.5 million deal with the Titans.
Jacksonville re-signed DE Abry Jones to a 1-year, $2.553 million deal. The Washington Redskins re-signed DT Kedric Golston to a 1-year, $1.005 million contract.
DE Chris Clemons, who spent the last two seasons with Jacksonville, remains a free agent. C Fernando Velasco, who finished last season with Carolina, is also a free agent.
DE Demarcus Dobbs, who spent the last two seasons with Seattle, is a free agent as is CB Brandon Boykin, who spent 2015 with the Steelers. S Bacarri Rambo, who spent the last two seasons with Washington, is a free agent.
Kentucky
After four seasons with the Broncos, LB Danny Trevathan signed a 4-year, $24.5 million deal with the Chicago Bears.
LSU
Former Giants WR Rueben Randle signed 1-year, $1.025 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. Brandon LaFell, who spent the last two seasons with the New England Patriots, is still a free agent.
Former Tigers QB Matt Flynn, who finished last season with the Saints, remains a free agent. RB Stevan Ridley, who spent 2015 with the New York Jets, is also a free agent.
The San Diego Chargers re-signed OT Joseph Barksdale to a 4-year deal worth $22.2 million. Tennessee re-signed DT Al Woods to a 3-year, $10.5 million deal.
The Cowboys re-signed CB Morris Claiborne to a 1-year, $3 million deal. CB Ron Brooks, who played for Buffalo the last 4 years, signed 3-year, $6 million deal with the Eagles.
Dwayne Bowe, who spent 2015 with the Browns, and DB Danny McCray, who was with Dallas last year, are both free agents. LB Kelvin Sheppard, who spent the last two seasons with the Miami Dolphins, is also a free agent.
Mississippi State
RB Anthony Dixon, who spent the last two seasons with the Bills, and DT Kyle Love, who was with Carolina the last two years, are both free agents.
Missouri
Former Tigers QB Chase Daniel, who spent the last 3 years with Kansas City, signed a 3-year, $21 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Rams re-signed center Tim Barnes to a 2-year deal worth $5.5 million.
LB Sean Weatherspoon, who spent last season with Arizona, signed a 1-year, $1.5 million deal with the Atlanta Falcons.
LB Aldon Smith, who finished last season with Oakland, and TE Chase Coffman, who spent 2015 with Seattle, are both free agents. FS William Moore, who spent the first seven years of his NFL with the Atlanta Falcons, is also a free agent.
Ole Miss
Former Rebels WR Mike Wallace, who spent the last year with Minnesota, signed a 2-year, $11 million deal with the Baltimore Ravens. Bobby Massie, who spent the last four years with the Cardinals, signed 3-year, $18 million deal with the Bears.
Bradley Sowell, who spent the last three seasons with the Cardinals, signed 1-year, $1.5 million deal with Seattle. The Saints re-signed S Jamarca Sanford.
DE Greg Hardy, who spent last year with Dallas, is a free agent, as is CB Trumaine McBride, who spent the last three seasons with the Giants.
CB Cassius Vaughn, who spent 2015 with the Chargers, is also a free agent.
South Carolina
Chicago re-signed WR Alshon Jeffery to a one-year deal worth $14.599 million. The Giants re-signed LB Jasper Brinkley to a 1-year deal.
The Cardinals have extended an original-pick tender to restricted free agent S D.J. Swearinger. The Texans signed S Antonio Allen, who spent the last four seasons with the Jets.
TE Jared Cook, who spent the last three years with the St. Louis Rams, and OT Jamon Meredith, who had been with the Titans the last two seasons, are both free agents. DE Clifton Geathers, who was with Pittsburgh the last two years, is also a free agent.
Tennessee
DE Malik Jackson, who spent the last four seasons with the Denver Broncos, signed 6-year, $85.5 million deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. After two years with the New York Giants, DE Robert Ayers signed 3-year, $19.5 million deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Pittsburgh Steelers re-signed guard Ramon Foster to a 3-year deal. The Carolina Panthers re-signed guard Chris Scott to a 1-year deal.
The Chiefs assigned the franchise tag to S Eric Berry. RB Arian Foster, who spent seven seasons with the Texans before being released, and Tony McDaniel, who was with Tampa Bay in 2015, are both free agents.
Texas A&M
The Denver Broncos have retained OLB Von Miller on a franchise tag. The Seattle Seahawks re-signed running back Christine Michael to a one-year deal worth $765,000.
The Cardinals re-signed DE Red Bryant to a 1-year, $965,000 deal. The Seahawks have extended an original-round tender to C Patrick Lewis.
The Texans re-signed P Shane Lechler to a one-year, $1.8 million contract. PK Randy Bullock, who split last season between the Texans and the Jets, is a free agent.
DE Tony Jerod-Eddie, who spent the last four years with the San Francisco 49ers, is also a free agent.
Vanderbilt
CB Casey Hayward, who spent the last four years with the Green Bay Packers, signed 3-year, $15.3 million deal with San Diego. Safety Sean Richardson, who spent the last four years with Green Bay, is a free agent.
