Notre Dame is losing both parts of its dynamic backfield.
On Wednesday, running back Jadarian Price announced on his Instagram page that he plans to forgo his senior season and enter the 2026 NFL Draft.
“Notre Dame has truly been a blessing in my life,” Price wrote in a lengthy message shared on social media. “Choosing to be a student-athlete here for the past four years is something I will always be grateful for.”

Price’s backfield running mate, Jeremiyah Love, declared for the draft Tuesday night.
The Denison, Texas, native spent 4 seasons at Notre Dame. In 2024 and 2025, he spelled Love in the Irish backfield to give coach Marcus Freeman one of college football’s best 1-2 punches at running back. Price ran 120 times for 746 yards and 7 scores in 2024, helping Notre Dame to a runner-up finish in the College Football Playoff.
This season, Price ran for 674 yards and a career-best 11 touchdowns on 113 carries. He ran for a season-high 87 yards in the win over USC on Oct. 18, and he produced 121 scrimmage yards with 2 scores in the 56-13 bludgeoning of Arkansas on Sept. 27.
Love and Price are RB1 and RB2, respectively, in Mel Kiper Jr.’s positional rankings for the upcoming NFL Draft. Love is the third overall prospect on Kiper’s big board. Though Price is not in the top 25, he’s not expected to wait long to hear his name called.
Derek Peterson does a bit of everything, not unlike Taysom Hill. He has covered Oklahoma, Nebraska, the Pac-12, and now delivers CFB-wide content.
