The LSU Tigers and Ole Miss Rebels are still nearly nine hours from kickoff under the lights this evening. However, the Rebel fanbase is primed to be raucous all day long, and they showed the energy it intends to bring early Saturday morning.
During the opening minutes of College GameDay, Ole Miss fans quickly drowned out Pat McAfee’s voice with “F– Lane Kiffin” chants.
The NSFW chants only got stronger roughly an hour later, when GameDay had Lane Kiffin make a video appearance to chat with its cast prior to tonight’s game. Rebel fans resumed their “F– Lane Kiffin” cry and called their former coach an “a–hole” while he was on screen.
Ole Miss and Kiffin have both anxiously been awaiting today’s game. The Rebels want to show their former coach that he made the wrong decision in leaving for Baton Rouge, while Kiffin wants to demonstrate exactly why he felt the way he did. If he didn’t believe the Tigers presented a significant upgrade to his chances of winning a national championship, he wouldn’t have departed Oxford.
Ole Miss will get its chance to shout at Kiffin in-person when LSU arrives at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium for tonight’s 7:30 p.m. E.T. kickoff. You can watch the Tigers and Rebels face off on ABC.
