Ohio State bans Dave Portnoy from stadium for Big Noon Kickoff debut, per report
Ohio State will not allow Dave Portnoy to enter its stadium this week when the Barstool Sports founder is making Big Noon Kickoff debut, according to a report.
Portnoy, a noted Michigan alum and super fan, was hired by FOX earlier this offseason. He’s expected to appear regularly on Big Noon Kickoff this season, although it appears he won’t be able to be a normal participant on Saturday in Columbus. Front Office Sports first reported that news on Monday evening.
According to FOS’s Ryan Glasspiegel, Portnoy will still be in Columbus and will be present on set for part of Big Noon Kickoff. However, he won’t move inside the stadium along with the rest of the crew for the end of the show.
Glasspiegel’s report also says FOX anticipated having “issues” with Portnoy and Ohio State and never planned to have him on set inside Ohio Stadium.
Portnoy seemingly confirmed the report by posting a photo of himself in disguise on social media in response to FOS’s report:
Big Noon Kickoff will lead into Ohio State vs. Texas on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m. ET.
