Oklahoma gets on the board vs. Michigan with 22-yard John Mateer TD pass

After a slow start vs. Michigan on Saturday afternoon, Oklahoma is on the board.
The Sooners found the end zone on their opening drive of the third quarter, cutting Michigan’s lead to 10-7. John Mateer found Mackenzie Alleyne for a 22-yard touchdown pass to give the Sooners their first points of the game.

Oklahoma’s offense struggled mightily in the first half. The Sooners averaged just 3.7 yards per play before the break and possessed the ball for just over 11 minutes of game time.
OU’s best drive of the first half went for 48 yards, but ended with a Parker Livingstone fumble. After gaining just 115 total yards in the first half, the Sooners’ TD drive on their first possession of the third quarter went for 90 total yards.
Oklahoma entered this game as a 5.5-point road favorite, but trailed 10-0 at the half. The Sooners will have to hope they can generate more points on offense in the second half if they want to complete the comeback and remain undefeated.
