Oklahoma has picked up a new commitment for its 2026 recruiting class.

Tyler Ruxer is the newest OU pledge. He announced his verbal commitment to Brent Venables‘ program on Monday.

Out of Lincoln City (Indiana) Heritage Hills High School, Ruxer is listed as measuring 6-4 and 220 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Ruxer is rated 3-stars, the No. 3 player in the state of Indiana, No. 25 tight end and No. 489 prospect overall in the Class of 2026.

Ruxer was a sought-after prospect, collecting scholarship offers from 33 programs during his recruitment. Per Hayes Fawcett of Rivals, Ruxer’s decision came down to Oklahoma, Duke and West Virginia. Ruxer told Steve Wiltfong that he felt OU was the place for him to be developed as a tight end.

With Ruxer on board, Oklahoma has 14 verbal commitments in its 2026 recruiting class, which ranks No. 40 nationally on the Composite. Sooners fans can check out Ruxer’s highlights to see what he brings to Norman next year.
