The Red River Rivalry never stops. The Oklahoma Sooners may be out of College Football Playoff contention, but their win over the Texas Longhorns could keep Arch Manning and Co. out of the CFP. It also could have been a deciding factor in getting a Longhorn legacy prospect to change his allegiances.

On Monday, defensive lineman Logan Lokey committed to Oklahoma, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. The Denton, TX native picked the Sooners over Arkansas, Kentucky, Miami (FL), Texas A&M and others.

Lokey is the No. 259 player in the 2028 recruiting class, per 247Sports Composite rankings. The same metric lists him as the No. 29 defensive lineman and No. 34 player from Texas in the class.

Lokey’s father, Derek played for Texas from 2004-07. He played 32 games as a Longhorn, racking up 58 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and two sacks. As a sophomore, he appeared in 11 contests and won the BCS National Championship. Following his collegiate career, he suited up in three NFL games for the Kansas City Chiefs across two seasons (2008-09).

Oklahoma (4-4, 2-3 SEC) faces Florida (5-3, 3-3 SEC) this weekend. Kickoff between the Sooners and Gators is 7:45 p.m. ET on Nov. 7 (SEC Network).
