Oklahoma is making a push for the 2026 recruiting class, adding another June commitment on Monday. It’s the 4th commitment of June for Brent Venables and the Sooners, and this one comes in the form of an elite running back.

The player is DeZephen Walker, a 4-star running back out of Raymore-Peculiar High School in Missouri. Walker also generated offers from Auburn, Florida, Kansas, Georgia and Miami, among others, before eventually committing to Oklahoma.

According to the 247 Sports Composite, Walker is a 4-star prospect and the 25th overall running back in the entire country. He’s also the No. 5 player from Missouri for the class of 2026.

Here is a look at Walker’s junior year highlights:

While the Sooners prepare to head into a crucial year under Venables, the program is also trying to boost its recruiting class. To this point, Oklahoma has 11 hard commitments for the cycle, and the group ranks just 33rd nationally per the 247 Sports Team Composite.

The good news is that Oklahoma has produced a top-10 class each year of Venables’ tenure, but there is plenty of work to do across the summer and fall. We’ll see how they add to the group down the stretch.
