Oklahoma entered Saturday needing a win against LSU to clinch a spot in the College Football Playoff. While it was much tougher than expected, the Sooners were able to get a 17-13 come from behind win to move to 10-2 on the season.

The victory was obviously the biggest news of the day, but it wasn’t the only big news for Brent Venables and his staff.

On Saturday night, 4-star edge Krew Jones announced that he would be heading to Norman.

“The coaching staff at OU is different,” Jones told On3. “I really like what they are doing on the defensive side of the ball. It’s my kind of ball. Relentless, violent and fast.”

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Jones is a 4-star recruit and the No. 149 prospect in the 2027 class. He is the No. 19 edge in the class, and is the second best player in Utah.

Jones is another addition to a recruiting class that is emerging as one of the very best in the country. With Jones commitment, the Sooners currently have the No. 1 class in 2027.
