Kip Lewis and Oklahoma were trailing the South Carolina Gamecocks 7-0 in the first quarter. Quarterback LaNorris Sellers ran it out from 15 yards to give the team the early lead, and he was looking for more later in the quarter.

However, Lewis had other plans, as he intercepted Sellers and took it the other way for a 30-yard pick-six.

Here’s a clip, which made it a 7-7 ballgame:

Lewis has been one of the leaders of Oklahoma since he joined the Sooners in 2022. Entering Saturday, he had 232 tackles, 6.5 sacks and 2 interceptions, both of which have gone the other way for touchdowns.

Lewis has dealt with some injuries this year, as he suffered a right knee injury in the loss at Michigan. He missed only one game, and was back for the game against Georgia.

While the Sooners haven’t had the season that they had hoped for, the defense has still been, throughout the year, one of the best units in the country. If the Sooners are going to be able to get the win on Saturday, they may need Lewis and the defense to make a couple more big stops.
