Oklahoma set to add veteran D-lineman to 2026 roster, per report

Oklahoma is looking to add another veteran player to its defensive line room for the 2026 season, according to a report.
Ex-Boise State defensive lineman Braxton Fely was granted a temporary restraining order on Thursday, granting him eligibility for the upcoming campaign (pending a final court ruling).
On3’s Pete Nakos confirms that court documents suggest Fely intends to play at Oklahoma in 2026. CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz also confirmed Fely’s intentions to transfer to Oklahoma.

Fely is the second defensive lineman that Oklahoma is attempting to add to its 2026 roster on the eve of the season. The Sooners have also received a commitment from former Arkansas lineman Danny Saili, though he hasn’t been confirmed eligible for the upcoming campaign.
Fely would be a potentially-significant addition for OU up front. He had a 4-year career at Boise State that saw him record 20 tackles for loss and 14 sacks. Fely was named to the All-Mountain West second team in 2024 and 2025.
Per Pro Football Focus data, Fely is an impact pass rusher from the interior defensive line. He earned a pass rushing grade of 75.3 in 2025.
Oklahoma will make its regular-season debut against UTEP on Friday night, so Fely presumably wouldn’t suit up for the Sooners until at least their Week 2 matchup against Michigan in Ann Arbor. As of this writing, Fely had not officially been added to OU’s roster.
