Oklahoma transfer QB, brother commit to Big 12 program, per report

Michael Hawkins Jr. and Maliek Hawkins have found their new team. The brothers are transferring from Oklahoma and continuing their careers at West Virginia.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported the news, per a source, on Monday morning.

Michael Hawkins Jr. joined the Sooners ahead of the 2024 season. As a freshman, he played in 7 games, making 4 starts. In 2024, Hawkins was 76-of-120 passing for 783 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions while rushing 69 times for 204 yards and 1 score. This season, he appeared in just 2 games, throwing for 167 yards and 3 TDs, adding 1 score on the ground. Hawkins logged 24 of his 27 passes in the Kent State game on Oct. 4, his last appearance of the season
Maliek Hawkins appeared in only 1 game for the Sooners, allowing him to take a redshirt for the 2025 season. Like his older brother, Maliek is an Emmerson High School product and Dallas native. He was rated 3-stars, the No. 55 cornerback, No. 87 player in Texas and No. 645 prospect overall in the Class of 2025 on the 247Sports Composite.
