The Oklahoma Sooners attempted to have a bit of fun at the expense of Alabama wide receiver Germie Bernard on Friday during pregame warmups for the Sooners-Crimson Tide first-round College Football Playoff matchup (8 pm ET, ABC/ESPN), poking at Bernardโ€™s inability to work through Memorial Stadiumโ€™s lights in 2024.

Memorial Stadiumโ€™s end zone big-screen display asked fans to vote on the โ€œSong Of The Gameโ€, with the choices being โ€œAll Of The Lightsโ€, โ€œKill The Lightsโ€ and โ€œLightsโ€.

Bernard said earlier this week that the configuration of the light structures at Memorial Stadium were distracting when Alabama lost to Oklahoma 24-3 in Norman in 2024 โ€“ a game that saw him record 4 catches for 60 yards.

โ€œTheir lights, it kind of got me last time that we played,โ€ Bernard said, via a video from AL.com. โ€œThe lights were kind of, I donโ€™t know, in a weird position, I guess you could say.โ€

Bernard also mentioned that Alabama players previously had issues adjusting to the firm natural surface at Memorial Stadium, but did not expect that to be an issue on the return trip.

โ€œI think our equipment staff has done a great job at putting us in the right cleats and whatnot, so we wonโ€™t have that issue (on Friday),โ€ he said.
