Ole Miss has added a commitment from Class of 2027 defensive lineman Mitchell Turner, who committed to Pete Golding and the Rebels over the likes of Texas, Alabama and LSU.
That’s a huge addition for Golding and Ole Miss. Turner is a top 75 prospect in the Class of 2027 and a consensus 4-star, currently the highest rated prospect in Ole Miss’ 2027 class.
In addition, he’s considered the top prospect out of the Magnolia State by 247Sports and represents the first Mississippi-commitment inside the top 10 for the Rebels.
As you can see above, Turner stands at 6-foot-3 and comes in at 280 pounds. He stars at Louisville high school in Louisville, Mississippi and also plays baseball with a .522 batting average. Turner totaled 103 tackles with 41 tackles for loss and 15.5 sacks and a forced fumble. Talk about dominant.
Turner is one of several additions along the defensive line for Ole Miss this cycle. He joins 4-star DL Markus Pittman and Marvin Nguetsop as well as edge prospects David Parson, Juelz Batiste and Keysan Taylor.
According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Turner is the nation’s No. 55 overall prospect and the No. 5 defensive lineman.
