The Magnolia Bowl is always special to both teams, but this year’s game truly means more for both programs. It will be Lane Kiffin‘s first game back at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium after he left a College Football Playoff-bound Ole Miss team to become the new head coach at LSU.

Kiffin was 55-19 in his Ole Miss tenure, guiding the Rebels to 10 or more wins 4 times. After his departure, Pete Golding was named the new full-time head coach, leading the Rebels to their first 2 Playoff wins in program history.
