Ole Miss pulled off one of the biggest upsets in College Football Playoff history on Thursday night in the Sugar Bowl.

In a wild back-and-forth affair, it was the Rebels who prevailed over Georgia thanks to a 47-yard field goal by Lucas Carneiro in the final seconds of regulation. The game-winning kick was set up by a brilliant third-down conversion from Trinidad Chambliss with under 30 seconds remaining in the game.

Here’s Carneiro’s game winning kick:

The ensuing kickoff resulted in a safety, giving Ole Miss a 39-34 win.

Ole Miss‘s offense was nearly unstoppable in the second half of this game. The Rebels scored 25 points after the break and needed every one of them to overcome a gutsy effort from Gunner Stockton and Georgia.

Chambliss was particularly electric as he threw for 362 yards and 2 touchdowns in this victory. His night included an incredible fourth-quarter drive that saw him make 3 consecutive remarkable plays to put Ole Miss in position to take a late lead.

Chambliss and the Rebels will now play Miami with a spot in the national championship game on the line. That game will be played on Jan. 8 at the Fiesta Bowl.
