Mississippi State hoisted the Egg Bowl Trophy on Ole Miss’ field Thursday night after defeating the Rebels 24-22. Mike Leach is also taking home his first rivalry trophy since being hired at MSU.
Thursday night was rough for Ole Miss fans. They witnessed a heartbreaking ending to a rain-soaked game. Rebels fans got fired up in the fourth quarter, too, after officials called a controversial fumble on Jaxson Dart’s backwards pass. Trash was thrown on the field then.
However, after the game, things got a bit more intense. Ole Miss fans threw trash and 2 chairs on the field in the end zone where MSU players were celebrating.
Rivals.com’s Jack Byers got video of the incident.

Thankfully, no MSU players were hit with chairs, but we’re not sure about the flying debris.
