Cox is a huge pickup for the Rebels. He’s the No. 520 overall player and the No. 45 edge rusher in the nation for the class of 2027, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also regarded as the No. 63 player from the state of Georgia.
Cox took visits to Clemson, Mississippi State and Purdue prior to making this decision. He also made an official visit to Oxford back in June, according to 247Sports.
Cox attends Westlake High School in Oxford, Georgia. He’s listed at 6-foot-5, 230 pounds. His initial offer from Ole Miss came back in November of 2025, well ahead of when programs like Florida State and Clemson made formal offers.
Ole Miss now has 21 commits in the class of 2027. The class ranks No. 14 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings. The Early Signing Period for the class of 2027 is slated for December.
