Ole Miss, LSU named finalists for Louisiana-based 4-star safety

Jayden Anding will announce his commitment to either LSU or Ole Miss in just under 24 hours.

As you can probably guess based on Anding’s hometown, the 4-star safety was for a long time considered an LSU lean. He received a crystal ball to land at LSU on June 23 following an official visit to Baton Rouge on June 19. However, Anding was originally set to commit on July 1 and postponed that commitment date until its announcement that it will be held on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. CT.

Whoever gets Anding, they’ll be happy. The standout safety is the No. 312 overall prospect in the 2027 class, also considered to be the No. 26 safety and the No. 11 prospect out of the state of Louisiana.
Ole Miss currently holds a commitment from 2 safeties in the Class of 2027, while LSU has just one, but he’s a big one: 4-star top-100 prospect Karnell James.
