The Ole Miss Rebels are once again off to a very fast start in 2025, and much of that success has been thanks to their incredibly stout run game.

Leading the way out of the backfield for the Rebels has been former Missouri Tiger Kewan Lacy, who joined Ole Miss out of the portal this past offseason.

Head coach Lane Kiffin brought Lacy over to replace the production of the now-departed Henry Parish and Ulysses Bentley IV, and he has quickly slotted into the starting role for the Rebels.

This was put on full display this past weekend against the Kentucky Wildcats, as Lacy rushed for 138 yards and 1 touchdown on 28 carries in Ole Miss’ comeback win over the Wildcats.

This stellar showing led to Lacy being named the Doak Walker National Player of the Week, an honor given to the best running back in the nation each week.

With his electric performance against the Cats, Lacy now has 246 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns on the season, both of which rank first in the SEC.

If Lacy is able to keep up his current pace, then he could end up being the driving force behind the Rebels’ first-ever College Football Playoff appearance.
