Ole Miss and Missouri will face off on Saturday in one of the more intriguing games of Week 7. Both teams have only one loss this year, and Missouri quarterback Austin Simmons is set to make his return to Oxford after starting the season for Ole Miss last year.
Before the game kicked off, the Rebels posted on social media to announce their captains: Brycen Sanders, Terez Davis, Blake Purchase and Suntarine Perkins.
Suntarine Perkins and Blake Purchase are two of the best defenders on Ole Miss’s roster, and they will need to have their teammates ready for a tough challenge against Simmons and the Tigers.
Simmons has put together an outstanding season through 6 weeks. So far this year he’s thrown for 1,434 yards and 14 touchdowns with just 1 interception. What has made the Tigers’ offense very difficult to beat, though, has been the play of running back Jamal Roberts, who has rushed for 828 yards and eight touchdowns, filling in for Ahmad Hardy.
The Rebels’ defense has struggled at times, especially in the Florida game, where they gave up 302 rushing yards and 52 points. As good as the Florida offense is, Missouri is a different level.
Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET, and the game will be on the SEC Network.
