Ole Miss suffers third and fourth decommitments since firing Matt Luke

Ole Miss continues to lose recruits in the wake of firing Matt Luke, and has already lost four commitments. This time it was from Jabari Small of Memphis, Tennessee, and Eric Reed, a 4-star safety from Shreveport, Louisiana
Small tweeted his explanation: “After a lot of prayer and thought with family, I feel that it’s best to de-commit from the University of Mississippi at this time. This does not take away the love I have for the coaches, the university and the entire Ole Miss community. Thank you all for everything.”
Reed referenced “coaching uncertainty” in his tweet. Reed was the highest-rated Ole Miss commit in the 2020 class, at No. 203 nationally, the No. 17 safety and No. 7 player in Louisiana. Reed had a reported 13 offers and previously chose Ole Miss over LSU.
Small committed to the Rebels on July 28, and is a 3-star all-purpose back who’s listed at 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds. He’s the No. 20 player in Tennessee in this class, according to 247Sports. He had a reported 21 offers, including Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee and Texas A&M.
The Rebels earlier lost commitments from 3-star running backs Kentrel Bullock and Kyjuan Herndon.
Ole Miss’ 2020 class has slipped to No. 11 in the SEC, and No. 24 in the country, according to 247Sports.
