Ole Miss is in uncharted territory as it faces Georgia in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.
The Rebels, who disposed of Tulane in the first round, will have a much tougher challenge against a Bulldogs program that is seeking their third national championship in five seasons. The winner of Thursday’s game faces either second-seeded Ohio State or 10th-seeded Miami in the Fiesta Bowl semifinal on Jan. 8 at State Farm Stadium.
Ahead of Thursday’s quarterfinal contest at Mercedes-Benz Superdome, the Rebels unveiled their uniform combination. It also includes their Realtree icy white camouflage helmets, as you can see below:
Ole Miss will be looking for revenge when it faces Georgia on Thursday. The Rebels and Bulldogs met at Sanford Stadium on Oct. 18, a 43-35 Bulldogs win.
Trinidad Chambliss was 19-of-36 for 263 yards and a touchdown, adding 43 yards and two more touchdowns on the ground. Kewan Lacy had a pair of rushing touchdowns of his own but was held to 31 yards on 12 carries.
Meanwhile, Georgia’s Gunner Stockton accounted for five touchdowns, throwing for four and rushing for another, as the Bulldogs outscored the Rebels 17-0 in the fourth quarter.
The icy white camo helmets were first worn against South Carolina on Nov. 1.
