Ole Miss is going for a 2-0 start this season and it appears a couple of key players will be available for Saturday’s matchup vs. visiting Charlotte.
Ole Miss linebacker Keaton Thomas (ankle) and running back Kewan Lacy (thigh) each left last week’s victory vs. Louisville with injuries but both are projected to dress, according to On3. However, On3 reports that the main objective is to keep both “fully healthy” going into the Week 3 showdown vs. LSU, so that could mean a lesser amount of reps for Thomas and Lacy.
In the victory vs. Louisville, Thomas tallied 8 combined tackles while Lacy amassed 80 yards from scrimmage along with a touchdown.
The 6-foot-1 Thomas, a senior from Jacksonville, is in his first season with Ole Miss after a couple of years at Baylor. Thomas recorded 205 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, 2 interceptions and a touchdown with the Bears.
The 5-foot-11 Lacy, a junior from Dallas, is coming off his best season of 1,567 yards and 24 touchdowns on the ground. Lacy is in his third season with the Rebels after starting out with a year at Missouri.
Charlotte at Ole Miss is set for a 7:45 p.m. ET kickoff and will be televised on ESPN2.
