Oops, Stoops: Kentucky fan sports brown paper bag amid blowout loss to Tennessee
Kentucky is having a rough season in 2025.
Although the Wildcats got off to a good start this year in nonconference play, they suffered their fifth-straight SEC loss of the year on Saturday night vs. Tennessee, 56-34. Kentucky’s offense was competitive throughout, but the outcome was still decided relatively early in the second half.
While some fans stayed until the final stanza, not all were supportive of the product that’s been on the field this season. ESPN cameras caught one Kentucky fan who was sporting a brown paper bag on their head with the word “CATastrophe” written on top.
Here’s a look:
Kentucky has enjoyed a lot of success during the Mark Stoops era in Lexington, but the best of those days appear to be in the past. Kentucky is now 1-12 in SEC play since the start of the 2024 season. The Wildcats have not been .500 or better in conference action since 2021.
Kentucky has one more home SEC game remaining this season: vs. Florida on Nov. 8. Perhaps Kentucky will be able to snap its losing streak against the Gators. If not, Kentucky basketball season starts even sooner with a matchup against Nicholls on Nov. 4.
